The
Himalayan Nature Society is a voluntary organization registered
under the societies Registration Act 21 of 1860, in the village
of Gamru, near the town of Dharamsala in the Kangra Valley of Himachal
Pradesh, India.
Being a non-profit social organization, the Society is committed
in its endeavors to protect the Environment and Animal
Welfare.

There are eight members in board of Directors including two founder
members. Board have been elected every third year.

Our Team:
We have a team of three dedicated Veterinary surgeons who perform
the spaying /neutering and rescue services with the latest techniques.
These vets are Indian Government employee but they have been permitted
to work voluntarily with Himalayan Nature Society who runs Dharamsala
Dog Rescue & “Karuna Animal Sanctuary”
projects.

He has finished his masters at the Vet college Palampur &
now he is working with the Government Hospital Yol at Dharamsala.He
has attended advanced training of ABC (Animal Birth Control Dog’s)
at National Institute of Animal Welfare, Ballabhgarh-Haryana This
training has been organised by Animal Welfare Board of India to
generate the trained manpower in India to deal with the large
number of stray dog’s.

Senior Veterinary Officer at Sub.Div.Vet. Hospital, Dharamsala.
He is also one of the veterinary graduate of Veterinary College,
Palampur.Now a days he is working as Government vet at Dharamsala.He
has also attended training of ABC (Animal Birth Control Dog’s)
Dr. Atul Puri

Veterinary Officer at Kotla.
He is also one of the veterinary graduate of Veterinary College,
Palampur.Now a days he is working as Government vet at Kotla near
Nurpur.
We have also a team of Vet-nurses, dog catchers & Ambulance
driver. The team member has been trained at “Help in Suffering”
at Rajsthan. Our team members has also attended advanced training
of ABC (Animal Birth Control Dog’s) at National Institute
of Animal Welfare,Ballabhgarh-Haryana.This training has been organised
by Animal Welfare Board of India.
Mr. Surinder Kumar
Vet-nurse, Dog Catcher & Ambulance Driver.
He has been trained at “Help in Suffering” at Rajasthan.
He has also attended advanced training of ABC (Animal Birth Control
Dog’s) & Dog Catching at National Institute of Animal
Welfare, Ballabhgarh-Haryana This training has been organised
by Animal Welfare Board of India.
Mr. Sher Singh
Vet-nurse, Dog Catcher & Ambulance Driver.
He has been trained at “Help in Suffering” at Rajasthan
as vet nurse and dog catcher.
